Yesterday I decided to take a walk around Brooklyn no where far within the area of my residence. On this walk my phone died now normally I would rush home just to charge it, but, this time it didn't bother me. Maybe because I had my camera with me either way it didn't effect me which was shocking.
Instead I took the time to embrace my surroundings and really live in the moment. This made me think about the world we live in, and how technology has molded our thinking process.
Please don't get it twisted I have no PHD in sociology or studying of the human brain. This is purely an observation on my social circle and behaviors that I have as well.
Having this "aha" moment questions developed, so instead of keeping them to myself I decided to write them.
• Are you living a fulfilling life?
• Do you work a job that makes you happy or just working a job?
• How often do you smile?
• If social media didn't exist would you still have a identity?
• Do you travel?
• Do you have conversations or you prefer texting?
• What makes you happy?
These are some questions that randomly came across my mind, but are these questions something we as humans truly think about?
Yes! This all stems from a little walk around Brooklyn with no phone lol
Mainly because I get so caught up in work, and maintaining my social media accounts. Sometimes I forget to Live, distracted by technology not appreciating Life, Nature and People.
Everything is so fast go go go, move move move with no real destination. Yesterday I smiled and it felt good! Most of my pictures usually have a artsy vibe yesterday was different.
This time I stood in front of these leaves, that was growing beautifully on the gate.
Some died but the rest were strong and green, it caught my eye from across the street and I began to smile.
Why?? Because you have one life would you rather spend it living and dead on the inside? Or no matter what is going on, be thankful for life itself. Be appreciative you can start a new but most importantly be grateful for your Smile.
